Man oh man I am hungry! Sadly, Thanksgiving still isn’t here yet and I am left to merely daydream about my Grandmas fruit salad, her amazing stuffing and my Moms apple pie! If you haven’t had my Moms apple pie yet in your life, than you’ve merely tasted second best at every thanksgiving table. I’m kidding! Well, I’m kind of kidding—her pie actually should be entered into a central New York pie competition. Whatever your family has dubbed their trademark dish at your Thanksgiving table I want you to channel that now! Is it the stuffing? Is it the turkey stuffed with stuffing? Is it the gravy? I’m only doing this with the hope of bringing you to my level of despair because it’s not turkey day yet!
“Life is a cabaret old chum, come to the cabaret! Come taste the wine, come hear the band, come blow your horn, start celebrating, right this way your table’s waiting.” Gosh, I love the stage! For those who have felt that nervous and exciting pit in your stomach on opening night, you know it’s a feeling like nothing else! That adrenaline rush that you get when your Stage Manager says “5 minutes to places”, wow! When you utter that first note after the orchestra has finished playing the overture, many times you’re left breathless. That feeling you get when you know you absolutely killed it on your monologue, solo or dance break makes the months of rehearsal so worth it.
